Play Date Cafe Challenge... and a challenge it was!

So I have made a couple of cards for the Play Date Cafe Challenges but never managed to post them. So typical of me.  I am not making that mistake this time because this color combo put me into a tail spin.  I ended up creating 2 things, a gift bag and a card (a few days later).

So here is what stumped me! Great colors right? Now try putting them together. That blue looks beautiful in this photo but just threw me when trying to add it to my project.  So with out further ado...

Here is a close up of the bag. I started with a mini card. Yes that is actually a mini card on the bag. The problem I was having was using so many buttons on something that someone would simply just throw out... I just couldn't do it so I decided to make it a gift bag because people tend to reuse gift bags right??? I do anyway :)
Here is the entire bag.
I used
Stamps - Unity sets
Paper - polka dot velum (SU), other paper from misc. stores
Ribbon - White american crafts that I colored using tattered angels mist
Buttons - PTI
Ink - Chalk ink
Bag from Hobby Lobby

Now for the piece I like...
After a couple of days and a trip to the local craft store I decided to try again.  I get this great stamp that I just had to try out. Again the colors threw me for a loop. I had this great heart and the white card and just didn't know what to do next.  I happened to have my Unity stamp set out and realized that this Lots of Love stamp was perfect so I stamped it in the bottom right corner... then I thought it would look even better as a background, so I went to town.  Then I thought I really needed some more blue and I happened to pick up some copic glitter pens while I was at the craft store so I colored in all the hearts!!!
This one I like!!!

Here is what I used -
Stamps - Unity
Paper - All different companies (PTI, SU and some others)
Ink - Chalk ink
Markers - Copic glitter pen
Embossing powder- clear american crafts

So there you have it!! I hope you like!

Great use of those buttons on your gift bag (which is fab) and just love how you used pops of blue in your background on your card. So glad you actually posted your projects for The Play Date Cafe this week! ;)
