Since I started selling my work I thought it was time to step outside my comfort zone.
At Prairie Art and Stamps (a local craft store here) I had seen these stamps
They are different, very grunge and dark.
These are not stamps I would normally buy but I got to thinking...
someone will love these
and so I took the plunge and bought two new stamps.
Here are my newest members...
Prairie Misfit
and Moth Fab
So if you have seen my stuff you know these are way out of my comfort zone. Here is what I came up with:Card using Moth -
In the close up you can read the stamp from Unity by Donna Downey. It says "She remained true to herself"
I used Tim Holtz paper on white card stock. I stamped the image and colored it with copics and then added some stickles to it. I used my slingo gel pen to add the white around the outside and chalk ink for the sentiment. I added dimensionals to the image and adhered it to the card.
My card using Prairie Misfit:
Again I used Tim Holt paper on white card stock. I used copics to color the image and distressed the paper with tim holtz ink. I used a gray chalk ink for the sentiment. This one says "She designed a life she loved."I used random ribbon, added some dimensionals and there you have it.
The other project I did using this stamp was on paper adhered to canvas.
I went into my Basic Gray stash and found this great yellow paper. I
stamped the image, colored it with copics and added stickels to it. I
stamped the sentiment from Donna Downey's The Artist in You set.
I sooo sooo sooo LOVE her stamps!!
I distressed the edges with some brown distress ink.
Then glued the paper to the canvas
using a white glue.
I decided I needed something else and
decided on
using Ranges/Tim Holtzs
Rock Candy.
I
thought about adding funky ribbon around the outer edge but as you can
see I decided against that.
Here are some close ups
So there you have it. Some new items and new pieces of art!!! Let me know what you think. I took a step out of my comfort zone... what about you?
Have a great weekend and till next time....
