Summer Thank You

So I joined a summer card class and the first week has a color challenge.  I am really inspired by the amazing talent of the instructors and the participants.

So I decided to combine this with color challenge with Unity's Kit of the Month Challenge
They give you the sketch and you use a stamp(s) from the
MANY to choose from in the Kits we receive every month.

So this is what I came up with

This card is relatively easy to make, if you like to color.  That is really the only time consuming part.

I used
Papertray Paper - Spring Rain and Rasberry Fizz
Designer Paper - JilliBean Soup - Watermel Gaspacho
Markers - Copics, Spica and Slingo White Gell
Die - Spellbinders
Stamps - June Kit of the Month-  Unity Stamp Company

There you have it!
Enjoy and have a great SUMMER!!!

till next time

Friends with Flair and My Birthday... What can be better than this?

Well today is my birthday. I sooooo don't feel my age.
I still feel 28, not 38.
Life is good and getting better every day!

Today I am going to share a card I made for the Kit of the Month challenge.

I am loving the colors!

I used copic glitter pens to color the cake and then ranger pearls for the base.  I used my Jillibean Soup paper that I LOVE!!

Make sure to check out the amazing talent over at the Unity Blog!

You can also get in on the action and get your Kit every month.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and enjoys the holiday!

till next time

Happy Birthday Girl Friend!

Well I haven't had a whole lot of time in the craft room.

You see it's in my basement and my husband is re-doing our hardwood floors right now in our kitchen.
No kitchen means no easy access to the basement.

If I want to go down stairs I have to go out the front door walk around and in through the back.
Not much fun with these crummy days we have been having.

I did get some in this past weekend though and that is what I am going to share with you.

This is one of my new Itty Bitty's that is also co-branded with Cosmo Cricket.
I love this stamp and was so excited to use it with Cosmo's paper.
You can get this great stamp over at Unity
Isn't it just great!!

I hope you have a great weekend and I hope the weather stays warm so I can walk to my basement.

Last day of Spring Break is great with Friends with Flair!!

Happy Friday to the cyber craft world. Today is the last day of my spring break and let me tell you I sure could get used to this. Crafting at any time of the day for however long I want. I have been telling my husband that he needs a better job so I can stay home. He's not so sure about that.

Anyway have you checked out My Unity Place yet?
It was such a great idea for them to put us all in one place.

For today's card I incorporated 2 of Unity's challenges. The bird challenge which is on Unity's website and the second is the Inside and Out challenge found @ My Unity Place

Here you have it!
the outside of the card...

and the inside of the card!

I used some great stuff to make this card.

and Ippity stamp that you can get from me
I absolutely LOVE those birds.  I use them in so many cards from Birthday to just because.

More goodies on this card include
This great paper that I just bought at a local craft store by Collage Press called Hometown Summer

The letters are from Adorn it.  I got those from my lss for only .99.  Love them!
I used some blue chalk ink and black archival ink on the dog and birds.
I colored using my Prismacolor pencils.

There you have it! I hope you like it!
Have a wonderful Friday and a very blessed Easter!

Spring Break is in Full Swing!

Since I have extra time with being on spring break I though I would post a couple of my cards that got the big "REJECT" from Paper Crafts magazine.  The competition is pretty fierce out there so I didn't take it personally.  I am happy with all but one card so enjoy.

Both of these cards were created from sketches.  Both use Unity stamps.

Hope you are enjoying your week.

Going out with Friends with Flair

The perfect way to end the year is with Unity and it's Friends with Flair!

The Unity Addicts Challenge was to create a gift bag or paper. Since I wouldn't be using a holiday bag anytime soon I decided on a bag that I would use for my co-workers retirement gift.

So... what did I use so you can make this card too??? I know that's what you're thinking.

I walked into Hobby Lobby and saw this paper that is by GCD by with the designer being Melody Ross. I thought to myself... Melody Ross, I have Melody Ross stamps from Unity. I was sold.

I used a plain kraft bag and went from there. I hope you like it.

Stamp Set - Unity - Melody Ross - Love Life
Designer Paper: Melody Ross - Homespun Chic
Glitter Paper, ribbon and Zing Metallic Green embossing powder all American Crafts
Flowers by Prima - fushia

So if you just have to get some Melody Ross stamps or some of the other great sets that Unity has to offer you can check it out at Unity.
They are also offering

Make sure to check out all of the amazing talent and you can start at Unity!

Happy New Year! I hope you have a wonderful 2011 and you send 2010 out with a bang!!!

Happy Thursday!

I have been making cards for some Unity and Ippity challenges.  I thought I would start to share them here.

The first card challenge was to go monochromatic with a splash of color.  I think I would stamp the image on something different next time but overall I like the card.

I used some SU kraft and dp.  I distressed the piece that the canvas tag is on with some Tim Holtz ink because I wanted it to be a touch darker than the the rest.  I stamped my image directly onto the canvas and used stickles on the ornaments and let it dry. I added some extra color to the H's.  Lastly, I added some ribbon using raffia and there you have it.

I'm thinking I may do something similar to this for my holiday cards. We shall see because not matter what I do it will have to be simple.

Have a great day!

It's Tuesday and day 2 of Growing in Unity!

Today's cards are once again my cards for the World Card making day Challenges.
I am going to start us off with the photo card....

I took this photo awhile back in Galena, IL.  It is such a beautiful place and I am fortunate to frequent there because that is where my in-laws live.  If you have seen some of my other work you will have noticed that I am into the mosaic look.  This card is slightly smaller than an average A7 card but will use an A7 envelope.

This is one of my favorites. This card is based off of this photo from Altered Ambitions blog

I am also in love with anything Donna Downey!
For my mini I used a stamp from the September Kit of the month. It just seemed like it fit so I went with it.

Here is another card that I really like.  This was for the distressing challenge.

Lastly is my card for the SOAR challenge... I love this balloon from the KOTM. I combined it with the sentiment from my new Donna Downey set.

There you go... a few more cards.  I hope you are having a great week and PLEASE don't forget to vote for babies with Cystic Fibrosis... every vote counts.

Thanks for stopping by,
~jennine
