A "Manly" Card

A Manly card

Here is my card for the Splitcoast clean and simple challenge. It was to be a masculine card. I used my Unity stamp from this months kit of the month. The buttons are old buttons from my gram who passed away this past April. My mom was kind enough to collect all of her buttons that she had stashed away and given them to me. It is a great treat when I get to add them to my cards as I know my gram would just love it.

Last Christmas I gave her tons for cards (also for her birthday which is 12/22). She hinted that she had run out and the the cards at the dollar store just don't compare. She always made sure to add a note to the cards to let the recipient know that the card was made by me. I'm sure she loves this one too, especially considering it has her buttons on it.

I hope your weekend is going well. I am celebrating my nieces baptism today. Have a great one!

A little bit of Friday Sunshine

I made this card last night but wasn't able to upload it. I was for the Unity Hip Hop Challenge where you had to use Blue, Red and Green. I used my Unity August Kit of the Month for my stamp. I used su bashful blue paper and dp from SEI. I colored the stamp with red, old olive, summer sunshine and blue, all su markers. I used my nestabilities to punch out the paper. The ribbon is from SU which was available during the sale-a-brations as an incentive.
Things are crazy at school so I haven't had much time to work on crafts. I hope you like the card.

Back to school!

Well I am back to school and things are crazy!!! As a special ed resource teacher the first thing on our list to create the schedule that we will use to see kids. This is a huge undertaking and very time consuming. I am dying to get into my craft area as I was also away at the in-laws this weekend so I wasn't able to do anything this weekend.

This card, surprisingly was made as a get well card. Aaron (dh) asked me to make a get well card for him for a guy friend of his. I mentioned this great stamp that I have and he was all over it. It worked out great considering he gave him a case of beer as a gift. It says get well soon on the inside. I used all SU paper. The stamp is from Unity Stamp Co. and the ink is memento black. The dew drops are a generic that I bought from Stamping Bella.
