Happy Friends with Flair Friday!!!

Well it is Friday and I am on time with posting my card.  This card was created as a wedding invite. One of my co-workers, the art teacher, informed me before school was out that she was engaged and getting married on Labor Day weekend (happens to be the same weekend Aaron and I married).  So knowing that she loves handmade cards I suggested that my wedding gift to her could be the materials to help her create her own card.  She took my up on it.  This is what we came up with.

She was in love with everything Tim Holtz that I had, the bird cage/bird and his paper, inks, stickles, you name it she wanted to use it.  One more thing was needed... a wedding stamp. I know the exact one. That Mr and Mrs. stamp from the KOTM set.  So we had it.  I bought the cards from Michaels in the bulk pack and she found the ribbon at Hobby Lobby.  She is in love with the card, we made 100 of them and here is mine which I received in the mail today!  I suggested that she not put anything "in" the card and that she put the invitation working on paper that you can put in the card, then people can use the card for a wedding whenever they needed it.  There you have it!

Here is another card I made using another wonderful Unity set!!!

Don't you just love the cosmo sets! I do!!!

Here are some of the 3x3 cards I have been making.

Happy Friday! Have a little Faith!

I am in love with my new Donna Downey stamp set. I had these canvas' that I bought on clearance at Michael's  a few months back and have been wanting to use them. So I decided to use my favorite stamps and this is what I came up with.

This was my first one...
That was the first one I did. I used my Tim Holtz mask, some brads from Hobby Lobby and SU, My flowers were cream colored and then I spritzed them.  I used copics on my image which I stamped on white inchies. I also sued Tim's ink on the mask. It was pink but when I added it to the yellow, I got an orange color.

My second one I did Thursday night.  I had a larger canvas (12x12) and tried that one this time.

A quick recall on what I used...
Tim Holtz - bird, ink, distress paint
Ribbon is misc from store
Brown ink on tag is Unity
Stamped image on white inchies with brown Unity ink and colored with my copics. Here Lips are with real red marker from SU... (beware that this smears when you add modge podge to it!)
The flowers are from Michaels and cordory brads from SU
Butterflies punched out with my Martha punch and then glitzed up with swarski crystals.

Well I hope you like these as I am thrilled with them. I am hoping they will sell at the farmers market this weekend.... we shall see.

Have a wonderful Friday and an even better weekend.  Make sure to check out all the amazing talent showcased on this hop.

Start at Unity for the list of amazing talent!

Of course I participted!!! Here they are
Challenge #1 - The Martini Sketch
And my take on this wonderful sketch....

Challenge #2- Unity is going to the birds....
create a new project using a bird or tree image!
My take on this challenge...
I used my new Unity/Cosmo Cricket set, Garden Variety. I also used the Garden Variety paper.  The flower is the Tim Holtz Sizzix die and the flowers are from Michael's.

Challenge #3 - LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT! - use your first Unity set!
My first set is Eco Chic... and here is what I created!
I also incorporated the color challege with a twist...
colors were Orange, Green and Yellow - the twist CAS!

Challenge # 4 - The Triple Take Challenge!

The concept of this challenge is:
  • given sketch
  • 4 patterned papers
  • a button or bling embellishment

This was a fun Challenge.... and here is what I made

I used my April KOM and Cosmo Paper.. Which I am in LOVE with.. and a 1"x1" inchie. I also used my chalk inks and distress inks. My buttons are from my lot that consist of all different brands.

Another Challenge was from Maren's blog!
She is AMAZING!! I love her work!
Her challenge....
Make a card, layout or project inspired by something in your Paper Crafts publication.
Since I am a subscriber to Paper Crafts magazine and have purchased a number of the special magazines I had no problem finding inspiration.
I used one of Maren's own creations from page 29 of the Card Creations - Start to Finish issue

Here is my card...
Again I used my Unity/Cosmo Garden Variety stamps and I used the garden variety paper! I colored in the tomato with my copics and distressed the edges with some Tim Holtz inks.  My ribbon is by Martha Stewart.

One last Challenge is the Hip Hop #5 Sketch Challenge
And my take on this challenge is...
Well that would be a WRAP!!! I hope you like my cards and I hope they win a thing or two, too!

Have a great week!
